Recently, APEC representatives visit Guangzhou. Their tour starts with a major hospital — The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. Health and brain research may sound technical — but for many economies, this is about the future of public well-being.

近日，亚太经合组织（APEC）代表团访问广州。他们的行程从中山一院开始。健康与脑科学研究或许听起来专业而前沿，但对许多经济体而言，这关乎公共福祉的未来。

"I'm really impressed by the facilities and capability of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. AI and new technology are very impressive, and I really felt the advanced medical quality from the Greater Bay Area in Guangzhou." said Junho Choi , APEC HWG Chair , DG of International Cooperation Ministry of Health and Welfare Republic of Korea.

“我对中山一院的设施和能力印象非常深刻。人工智能和新技术令人赞叹，我由衷地感受到广州及粤港澳大湾区的先进医疗品质。”亚太经合组织卫生工作组主席、韩国保健福祉部国际合作司司长崔俊昊说。

At this hospital, officials are seeing how advanced technology is being used in real clinical settings.

在这家医院，官员们正在观察先进技术如何在真实的临床环境中应用。

"This is my first time using this kind of AI machine. It's very useful for remote medicine, helping primary healthcare in remote areas." said Junho Choi.

“这是我第一次使用这种人工智能设备。它对远程医疗非常有用，有助于改善偏远地区的基层医疗服务。”崔俊昊说。

"It’s like using a real mouse, but not with your hand — with your eyes or your head. You move your head and blink to click. It's actually very useful, especially for people who are unable to use their hands." said Daria CHAADAEVA, Deputy Head of Division, Department of International Cooperation of Ministry of Health Russian Federation.

“这就像是用真正的鼠标，但不是用手——而是用你的眼睛或头来操作。你移动头部然后眨眼来点击。这实际上非常有用，特别是对那些不能使用双手的人来说。”俄罗斯联邦卫生部国际合作司副部门主管Daria CHAADAEVA说道。

Brain science and assistive technology are becoming important topics for ageing societies across the Asia-Pacific.

脑科学与辅助技术正成为亚太地区老龄化社会的重要课题。

"In the Health Working Group sessions, we are focusing on developing high-quality healthcare systems combined with AI transformation. AI and telecommunication technology are essential to support healthcare development, especially for remote areas." said Junho Choi.

“在健康工作组会议中，我们重点关注结合人工智能转型发展高质量医疗体系。人工智能和通信技术对于支持医疗发展至关重要，尤其是在偏远地区。”崔俊昊说。
