The Paris Summer Olympic Games kicked off on July 26 in France. World leaders have been calling for an Olympic Truce during the Games. Sadly, the ancient Greek tradition is rarely respected in modern times.

This year is no exception, as Palestine accuses Israel of breaching the Olympic Truce by continuing to bomb Gaza.

What are the challenges in enforcing the Olympic Truce today? And how has the idea of peace played out in the history of the Games? We traveled to the birthplace of the Olympics to seek answers.
